Amy was shot and killed by her ex husband, who illegally entered her home in the early morning. He then killed himself. She had been through a hellish divorce for the prior two years, with the final documents being filed the week before her murder. There were 3 emergency applications for orders for protection, and he was very public with displaying his hatred for Amy, through Our Family Wizard and social media posts. He was gaslighting Amy and the children as well as coercive controlling them. Amy consistently documented her husband's actions throughout the case. However, police claimed they did not have a documented pattern of domestic abuse, as they didn’t consider non-physical abuse to be abuse. Amy was a beloved second grade teacher and leaves behind 3 young children.
