No Access to Funds

Women are shut out from access to the “joint” marital funds immediately upon separation. They are then expected to spend limitless amounts of money defending themselves against an onslaught of legal attacks, by the man who is holding all of her assets.

J.C. explains how litigation abuse plays out in New Jersey, with the family court acting as an accomplice. Women never recover financially from legal abuse.

My divorce has been complicated since I filed it in March 2022.

Even though I have concrete proof (texts, voicemails and videos) of affairs, embezzling money from employers, drugs, and alcohol addiction, abuse: financial, physical, and mental, and he has basically checked out of being a parent, I’m still being dragged through the court system.

I had to pay $5,000 to file a motion to get child support, only to have the judge (from an expensive county in New Jersey while I live in a poor county) throw it out.

I had my lawyer file a motion, again for another $5,000, to get support.  Suddenly, my Ex checks himself into the hospital on the court date for it to drag on further. I still do not have a support order garnished after 2½ years.

After trying to negotiate with a mediator that failed and cost $8,000, my lawyer has the nerve to suggest it again. Note that I have to apply for Social Services because I can’t afford to live.

My Ex hired a bulldog lawyer, who is also a municipal court judge. She is known for being an asshole and dragging it out to increase her fees. She also claims that she’s “for women who are abused” however my Ex hired her to abuse me. He’s actually stated it in voice messages, and videos I took of him while he was drunk and high and being abusive. I was a stay-at-home mom for 16 years… yeah, my ex needed a bulldog lawyer, and a judge with connections.
