Yahorany "Nani" Popoca

Nani was shot and killed by her estranged boyfriend on a Sunday morning as she arrived at work. He is the father of four of her six children and according to police, said he was concerned that she was going to take their children from him. Her sister reported that he had repeatedly stalked and threatened Nani after they had separated, so she filed for a protection order on June 10th - which a judge granted 6 days before he killed her.
This man has a long criminal background including domestic battery against Nani. She had taken out a prior order of protection against him in 2017.
Nani leaves behind 6 young children.
