Kayla was shot and killed by her ex boyfriend, while picking up her 10-year-old son at a custody exchange at his home. They had been in Family Court for 3 different cases in 2015 and family members said Kayla was emotionally abused by her Ex for years. According to them, he often told her that nobody would care if she died. Kayla was in the process of filing a contempt of custody declaration against him in regards to their son. She leaves behind 4 children.
