Francia was shot and killed by her estranged husband, along with her 2 brothers and 8-year old niece during a child custody drop off when they were celebrating a baby shower. Once inside the home, he told Francia that he wanted to reunite, but she refused, prompting him to open fire in the room killing the 4 family members. He then killed himself. A 13-year-old and 7-year-old survived the rampage by hiding in a closet with their grandmother. Francia leaves behind 4 children.
