Ashley (Page) Prince

Ashley was shot and killed by her ex father-in-law, along with her new husband, Dennis Prince, during a child custody hearing. He then killed himself. Her Ex’s father was an attorney and representing her Ex in the custody case. Ashley filed a motion in November 2023 to disqualify her Ex’s father as his counsel.
Ashley had been in Family Court for child custody since 2021, with 300 entries in their case (# D-21-635772-D) including ex-parte motions, forensic evaluations, supervised visitation, protective orders, subpoenaed cell phone and Uber records, etc. The usual gamut of using the courts as abuse by proxy. The hearing they were attending at the time of her death, was for Ashley’s emergency ex-parte motion for sole custody of their two children. Her Ex would allegedly send Ashley up to 70 text messages a day, which her father described as “relentless, harassing death threats” and “threatening verbal abuse.”
Ashley leaves behind 3 young children. There are child custody disputes over the care of Ashley’s children after her death. The two children with her Ex are currently being cared for by Ashley’s sister under a temporary guardianship order and she’s determined to keep them safe so is seeking sole custody. The baby that Ashley and her husband Dennis had together, is being cared for by Dennis’ close friends but Ashley’s parents have applied for sole custody to keep the three children together.
