My Ex was arrested for domestic assault. I filed for divorce and a restraining order.
The judge denied my request for an evidentiary hearing, then denied the restraining order, ignoring evidence of physical, psychological, financial and technology abuse. I was ordered to pay his attorney fees.
The next judge granted him equal custody. She “trusted her colleague”, and this “wasn’t her first rodeo” of a “woman trying to abuse the DV restraining order process.”
My children had immediate physical and behavioral regressions. They received diagnoses related to trauma. They don’t receive treatment because he won’t consent to recommended care. He has been reported to CPS repeatedly for emotional abuse and neglect.
I am in court every month. I can’t afford an attorney. I lost my job because of litigation abuse.
The ongoing pattern of abuse is unmistakable, but the judges always rule in his favor.
Every day is opposite day in Family Court.
